Empire warrants to the original consumer (Purchaser) that our products are free from defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the product. Lifetime is defined as the length of time that a product, through normal/expected use, can be expected to function as intended.
What is covered?
Our warranty covers defects encountered in the normal use of the product and does not apply if the product is damaged due to physical abuse, mishandling, accident, animal attack, or negligence, or if the product is altered or modified by the Purchaser in any way.
If the product is found to be defective, Empire's only obligation and the Purchaser's sole and exclusive remedy is the repair or replacement of the product with the same or comparable product. WaterField shall have no liability or responsibility to the Purchaser or any other person for any special, incidental or consequential losses or damages caused or alleged to be caused directly or indirectly by the product.
What is not covered?
Our warranty does not cover general wear and tear, misuse, or accidental damage. It does not cover the natural breakdown of materials which may occur after extended use of the product. Like a favorite pair of jeans, leather bags will eventually show some wear and develop their own character and patina over time. As a natural material, leather will have variations in color, some scars, or creases—these are not defects, but natural characteristics of the leather.
What does "Lifetime" mean?
The lifetime guarantee specifically refers to the length of time, through normal use, a WaterField Designs product will function for its intended purpose. It does not apply to the lifetime of the user.
What is considered "General Wear"?
General wear is the natural breakdown of materials over a long period of normal usage. If your WaterField Designs product has served you well but may be showing a lifetime of normal use, we hope you'll consider buying a replacement to last another lifetime.
All returns must be sent to WaterField at the Purchaser's expense. Any product we find to be defective will be repaired or replaced, at our option. If we receive a product that is not covered under this warranty, we will contact the sender and advise of appropriate repair charges.
